Oatmeal Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. sugar
6 saltine crackers, crushed
1/2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 c. broken pecan pieces or coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Add sugar, very gradually, beating constantly, until stiff.
Fold in crackers, then oatmeal, then nuts or coconut.
Gently stir in vanilla.
Pour into a well-greased 9-inch pie pan.
Bake in a preheated 375\u00b0 oven for 25 minutes. Top with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. This pie makes its own crust.
