Toffee Candy(Candy) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter (not margarine)
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    3 Tbsp. water
    1-1/2 c. natural almonds, sliced
    8 ounces milk chocolate bar
Preparation
    Slowly melt butter with sugar, corn syrup and water in a heavy 2 qt saucepan.
    Cook and stir constantly over moderate heat until mixture reaches 290\u00b0 on a candy thermometer.
    Add 1 cup sliced almonds, stirring constantly.
    Pour in buttered pan and flatten out thin (1/8 inch).
    When cool, melt 4 ounces of chocolate and spread on candy.
    Sprinkle with almonds.
    When this hardens turn candy over and melt the other 4 ounces of chocolate and spread on candy, sprinkle the remaining almonds on candy. When this hardens break into pieces.
