Ingredients

1 pkg. dates
1/3 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. pecans
1 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Cut up dates.
Add sugar and water.
Cook over low heat until it boils.
Add pecans.
Cool.
