Pork Chops And Rice Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked white rice
    6 pork chops
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. red pepper
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    3 1/2 c. chicken broth
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1/2 c. diced green pepper
    1/2 c. diced onion
Preparation
    Brown pork chops in shortening; remove from skillet and season.
    Pour off some of the drippings.
    Add rice, green pepper, onions, chicken broth and thyme; stir.
    Place pork chops on top. Cover and cook in frypan at 275\u00b0 for 30 minutes or pour into a 3-quart casserole and bake 1 hour at 325\u00b0.
    Serves 6.
