Ingredients

1 c. persimmon pulp
1 tsp. soda
1 c. sugar or less
1 egg, beaten
1 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening or margarine
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Beat the pulp, soda, sugar, shortening and egg thoroughly. Sift together the flour, spices and salt.
Add to the creamed mixture and beat well.
Stir nuts and raisins into the mixture. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 until slightly brown (about 15 minutes).
Makes about 5 dozen.
