Ten Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, cut up
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 c. shredded carrots
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 box frozen peas
    1 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    8 slices crisp bacon, broken into bits
    4 oz. shredded sharp cheese
Preparation
    Layer the ingredients in order given in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Cover tightly and leave in refrigerator overnight or at least six hours.
    The lettuce doesn't limp and the natural juices and mayonnaise make a dressing.
    You may want to add radishes or cucumbers to your taste.
    This is a great dish to make a day ahead of time.
