Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk, scalded
    3/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    4 tsp. salt
    2 c. water
    4 pkg. yeast
    4 eggs, beaten
    4 tsp. vanilla
    12 c. flour, sifted
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients and then cool.
    Mix the warm water and yeast together.
    Sprinkle a little flour and sugar over the dissolving yeast.
    This makes yeast work better.
    Add the rest of the ingredients.
    Roll out immediately and let rise.
    Bake in deep fat at 375\u00b0.
