Old-Fashioned Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream together shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Gradually add flour and mix well, then add vanilla.
    Cherries, coconut or nuts may be added.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
