Pumpkin Pie(Grandpa'S Favorite) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. Libby's canned pumpkin (16 oz.)
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 tsp. ginger
    5 egg yolks
    5 egg whites
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    pinch of mace
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 (9-inch) pie shells
Preparation
    Blend all ingredients together except egg whites, cream of tartar and pie shells.
    Beat egg whites until stiff, then add cream of tartar.
    Beat until blended, about 1 minute.
    Fold egg whites into pumpkin mixture until well blended.
    Do not beat.
    Pour pie mixture into unbaked shells.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes, then turn down to 350\u00b0 and bake for 45 minutes.
    Yields 2 pies.
