Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
6 c. milk
18 egg yolks, beaten
6 Tbsp. vanilla
12 c. chilled whipping cream
Preparation

Mix sugar, salt, milk and egg yolks in saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, just until bubbles appear around edge of mixture in pan.
Cool to room temperature.
Stir in vanilla and cream.
Pour into freezer can and freeze.
Makes 6 quarts.
