Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
3 c. self-rising flour
4 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
fresh or frozen coconut
Preparation

Lightly grease three 9-inch layer pans.
Have all ingredients at room temperature.
Cream the butter and sugar and add 1 egg at a time.
Add flour which has been sifted once, then measured, alternately with milk.
Beat after each addition until smooth. Add vanilla and a handful of coconut.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
