Cinnamon Red Hot Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers (overripe)
    1 c. lime
    1 c. vinegar
    1 bottle red food coloring
    1 Tbsp. alum
    2 c. vinegar
    10 c. sugar
    8 cinnamon sticks
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. red hot candy
Preparation
    Peel, core and slice large, overripe cucumbers.
    Soak cucumbers in lime and 1 gallon water for 24 hours.
    Wash; soak in ice water for 2 hours.
