Meat Ball And Kidney Bean Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. soft bread crumbs
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 medium size green pepper, cut into rings
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese squares
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    5 Tbsp. shortening
    1 sliced onion
    3 (No. 2) cans kidney beans
Preparation
    Combine milk, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, chili powder and meat.
    Mix thoroughly. Shape into small size balls.
    Place shortening in skillet. When it is hot, drop in meat balls and brown lightly. Turn frequently to brown evenly. Remove meat balls. Cook onion in same shortening until lightly brown. Add tomato sauce and cheese squares. Stir gently until mixed. Drain liquid from beans and pour into greased baking dish. Arrange meat balls on beans.
    Add sauce.
    Place pepper rings on top.
    Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
