Strawberry Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. milk
    4 c. sliced, sugared strawberries
    1/2 pt. heavy cream, whipped
Preparation
    Beat the eggs.
    Beat with the shortening and sugar until fluffy.
    Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add to the egg mixture alternately with the milk until the batter is smooth.
    Pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 50 minutes.
