Double Peanut Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. peanut butter
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. chopped salted peanuts or pecans
Preparation
    Combine the first 4 ingredients; beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir together the flour and soda; blend into batter.
    Stir in nuts.
    Form into 1-inch balls.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten slightly with fingers.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes, or until slightly tan on edges.
    Cool slightly on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack to cool completely.
    Makes 6 dozen small cookies or 3 dozen large cookies.
