Black-Eyed Pea Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. dried black-eyed peas
    5 c. water
    5 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
    1/3 c. chopped onion
    1 clove garlic
    1 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. shredded sharp process American cheese
    1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chiles
    1 Tbsp. jalapeno pepper juice (I use more)
Preparation
    Sort and wash peas; place in a heavy saucepan.
    Cover with water and bring to a boil; cook 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat. Cover and let soak 1 hour.
