Ingredients

au jus gravy mix
1 large onion, sliced in rings
5 lb. ground beef or hamburger
buns
Preparation

In large pot, prepare gravy mix using 2 cups water.
Throw onion rings in; let cook on medium heat (rings will separate). While gravy mix is cooking, make patties.
Keep them relatively small, not size hamburger you would make for the grill.
Brown off all the patties.
If gravy mix is boiling, reduce heat.
When all patties are browned and drained from excess grease, put them all in the gravy mix, stirring them around to get covered.
Let them simmer, covered, about 1/2 hour.
Great on bun; cover with some of the onion, gravy and mustard.
