Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. cake flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. coconut
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
5 egg yolks
5 egg whites, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter, shortening and sugar.
Add egg yolks and beat well.
Combine flour and soda.
Add to cream mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Stir in vanilla, coconut and pecans.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour batter into 3 greased 9-inch pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
