German Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head shredded cabbage
    2 medium onions, sliced
    7/8 c. sugar
    1 c. cider vinegar
    3/4 c. corn oil
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Alternate a layer of cabbage with a layer of onions.
    Put 7/8 cup sugar on top.
    Bring remaining ingredients to a boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
    Pour over cabbage and cool completely.
    Refrigerate. Next day, stir and repeat for 3 days.
    Can also be eaten immediately.
