Crispy Nut Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Tbsp. margarine, softened
    1/3 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 cup all purpose flour
    1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
    1 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 cup cornmeal
    1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Preparation
    Heat oven to 300 degrees.
    Grease 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
    Beat margarine and sugar until fluffy; blend in egg and vanilla.
    Add meal, flour and nuts; mix well.
    Spread onto bottom of prepared pan.
    Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
