No Fail Homemade Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 c. flour
    2 c. milk
    2/3 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 2/3 c. water
    3 tsp. salt
    2 pkg. dry yeast
Preparation
    Scald together milk, sugar and shortening.
    Remove from heat. Add 2 cups water and salt.
    Let cool slightly.
    Mix 1 package yeast with 2/3 cup warm milk mixture and yeast mixture.
    Stir together and add remaining flour, 2 cups at a time.
    Knead dough to a smooth consistency.
    Let rise to double size.
    Punch down and rise again. Work into rolls or loaves and place in greased pan.
    Bake 1/2 hour at 400\u00b0 and 1/2 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Makes one 9 x 13-inch pan plus 1 loaf.
