Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. dark corn syrup (Karo)
    3 eggs
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 1/4 c. pecan meats, chopped
Preparation
    Cook sugar and syrup until mixture thickens (cook just a little more than soft ball stage on a candy thermometer).
    Beat eggs without separating and slowly add eggs to hot syrup, beating constantly.
    Add butter, vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into unbaked pie shell; bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 300\u00b0 and bake for 35 minutes.
