Grandma Mary'S Barbecue Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. boneless rump roast
    2 tsp. shortening
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1/2 c. water
    salt and pepper
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. ketchup
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. chili powder
    2 slices lemon
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Brown meat.
    Add onion, salt, pepper and water.
    Cover and simmer approximately 1 1/2 hours.
