Hominy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. white corn, shelled
    1/4 tsp. lye
    4 tsp. soda
    1 c. butter
    1 lb. brown sugar
    6 whole eggs
    1/2 c. dark molasses
    1 tsp. soda, stirred in molasses
    1/2 c. whiskey
    2 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. nutmeg
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    4 c. flour
    2 lb. seeded raisins
    1 pkg. seeded dates
    1 lb. pecans
    1/4 lb. citron
    1/4 lb. candied pineapple
    1/4 lb. lemon peel
    1/4 lb. orange peel
    1/4 lb. figs
Preparation
    Pack meat in either pints or quarts and fill up with cold water.
    Put 1 teaspoon salt to the quart jar.
    Place on rubbers and tops and cold pack for 3 hours.
