Bagels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. water
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. powdered milk
3 c. white bread flour
1/4 c. whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp. active dry yeast
2 qt. water
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 egg, beaten (topping)
Preparation

Mix together first 8 ingredients and allow to rise.
Then cut dough into 12 pieces.
Roll each piece into a ball.
Make a 1-inch hole in the center of each ball, using a floured finger to form a ring shape.
Cover and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes.
