Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    2 carrots, grated
    1 small can LeSueur peas, drained
    1 purple onion, sliced thinly
    2 1/2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 c. grated Cheddar
    1/2 pkg. bacon, fried and crumbled
Preparation
    In 9 x 13-inch dish or trifle bowl, break lettuce into bite size pieces.
    Put grated carrots on top.
    Pour drained peas next, then onion slices.
    In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and sugar and spread on top of onions.
    Sprinkle cheese on, then add bacon pieces.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight or at least 6 hours.
