Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    colored sugar
Preparation
    Mix
    shortening,
    butter
    and
    sugar
    until
    light
    and fluffy.
    Add eggs and beat
    well.
    Combine
    flour,
    cream
    of tartar, soda and salt; add
    to
    creamed
    mixture and mix well. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
    Dip top in colored sugar.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400\u00b0 about 8 to 10 minutes.
    Yields about 5 dozen cookies.
