Cherry Nut Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small bottle maraschino cherries
    1 c. softened butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, separated
    1 c. sour cream
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Drain cherries, reserving juice.
    Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks, sour cream and reserved juice.
    Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda and add to creamed mixture and mix well.
    Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
    Add cherries and nuts.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes in 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
