Peanut Butter Blossoms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 large bag Hershey's candy Kisses
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Blend shortening and peanut butter in mixing bowl.
    Gradually add brown sugar, creaming until light and fluffy.
    Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
    Blend in dry ingredients gradually; mix thoroughly. Shape into balls, using a rounded teaspoonful for each.
    Roll balls in granulated sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake for 8 minutes.
    Top each cookie with a candy Kiss, pressing down until cookie cracks around edge.
    Bake 2 to 5 minutes longer, until golden brown.
    Yields about 36.
