Baked Soybeans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/8 c. soybeans (dry)
    3 1/2 c. tomatoes (one No. 2 1/2 can)
    1 c. sauteed onions
    1/4 c. oil
    6 1/2 c. water
    1 to 2 Tbsp. blackstrap molasses
    1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    1 tsp. sweet basil
    1/2 c. tomato paste
Preparation
    Pressure cook soybeans in water 1 hour.
    Drain juice from tomatoes and add to sauteed onions in heavy skillet.
    Simmer.
    Cut tomatoes in small pieces and add to juice.
    Add brown sugar, oil and salt.
    Mix.
    Add to cooked soybeans.
    (I often just add all these ingredients to beans without any precooking.)
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until juice is thickened.
    Add lemon juice and sweet basil.
    Add 1/2 can plain tomato paste.
    Yield:
    8 servings.
