Chicken Paprika - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion, chopped
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    1 Tbsp. paprika
    1 tsp. black pepper
    2 Tbsp. salt
    4 to 5 lb. chicken (legs and breasts)
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/2 pt. sour cream
Preparation
    Saute onion in shortening; add seasonings and chicken and saute about 10 minutes. Add water, cover and simmer slowly until chicken is tender.*
    Add sour cream to pan and mix well. Heat through and serve with mashed potatoes or dumplings. Serves 4.
