Wonderful Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
    2 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream together shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well.
    Blend in flour and vanilla; mix well.
    Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
    Place in cold oven.
    Turn oven to 325\u00b0.
    Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
    Do not open oven door during baking time.
    If desired, add 1 teaspoon lemon or butter flavoring instead of vanilla flavoring.
