Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. sweet cream
    6 tsp. white Karo syrup
    butter the size of an egg
    pinch of salt
    1 1/2 c. pecans
    1 pkg. dates
Preparation
    Stir
    sugar,
    salt,
    cream,
    syrup and butter.
    When it first boils,
    put in dates.
    When nearly done, put in pecans. When done, take from stove.
    Let cook, then beat until stiff. Roll in wet cloth.
