Sour Cream Banana Cake - cooking recipe

1/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
1 c. mashed bananas
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla; blend thoroughly.
Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, ending with dry ingredients.
Add bananas and nuts, mixing until just blended. Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan for 40 to 45 minutes.
Cool and frost.
