Mom Bekkering'S Stuffing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter, divided
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1 loaf bread, cubed
    2 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. sage
    3/4 tsp. thyme
    2 tsp. parsley
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    In large pan, over low heat, saute onion in 1/2 cup butter until soft, but not brown.
    Add cubed bread.
    Sprinkle salt, pepper, sage, thyme and parsley over bread and then stir well. Simmer uncovered until bread becomes slightly browned and crispy, stirring every few minutes.
    Add 1/4 cup butter, melted and mixed into 1/2 cup water; mix well.
    Remove from heat and serve or refrigerate to reheat in the microwave before serving.
    (Can be made the day before.)
