Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. sifted flour (self-rising)
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. corn meal
1/2 tsp. salt
1 to 2 small onions, chopped fine
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. milk

Preparation

Sift or stir together dry ingredients.
Add onions.
Mix egg and milk.
Mix all together.
Drop with a small spoon into hot cooking oil.
Cook only until light brown.
