Yankee Doodle Macaroni - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. onion, finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    1/2 c. mushrooms, sliced
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 (1 lb. 3 oz.) can peeled tomatoes
    1 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
    7 to 8 oz. pkg. macaroni
    1 to 2 Tbsp. margarine
    grated Parmesan or sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Heat shortening in pan.
    Add onion, garlic and mushrooms; saute until onion becomes pale yellow.
    Add meat; stir until brown.
    Add tomatoes, parsley and seasonings.
    Cover.
    Simmer about 45 minutes.
    While meat is cooking, cook macaroni in boiling water 7 to 10 minutes.
    Drain well.
    Toss in margarine.
    Turn macaroni onto hot platter.
    Pour sauce over; sprinkle with grated cheese.
