Golden Pineapple Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple in juice
    1 (8 oz.) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
    1 (4 serving size) pkg. instant vanilla pudding mix
    1 pkg. frozen pound cake, thawed
    1/3 c. almond flavored liqueur or 1/3 c. pineapple juice and 1/2 tsp. almond extract
    sliced pineapple for garnish (optional)
    1/2 c. sliced almonds, toasted for garnish (optional)
    strawberries or raspberries for garnish (optional)
Preparation
    Combine undrained pineapple, whipped topping and pudding mix. Let stand 5 minutes.
    Cut cake lengthwise in thirds.
    Drizzle with liqueur.
    Spread one-third pudding mixture over bottom layer of cake.
    Top with second layer.
    Repeat.
    End with topping.
    Chill 30 minutes.
    Sprinkle with toasted, sliced almonds.
    Garnish with pineapple slices and/or raspberries or strawberries.
