Plain Pastry - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 tsp. salt
2 c. sifted flour
2/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. ice water
Preparation

Mix well and form into a ball.
Let rest in refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
Cut ball in half and roll half just thin enough to be able to handle into a pie plate.
Place filling into pie plate with bottom crust in place.
Roll out top crust to same thickness as bottom and place on the pie.
Bake the pie according to the directions given with the filling.
Most 2-crust pies cook best when baked in a hot oven (450\u00b0) for about 10 minutes and the rest of the time in a moderate oven (350\u00b0).
