Olga'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. cake flour
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. baking powder
    dash of salt
    4 eggs
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla or lemon rind
Preparation
    In
    measuring
    cup,
    break
    in eggs plus enough milk to make 1 cup. In mixing bowl, cream shortening with sugar.
    Beat eggs with milk slightly and add to shortening and sugar.
    Sift flour
    and salt together.
    Add baking powder.
    Add to creamed mixture
    and mix until all is well mixed at a low speed.
    Then add
    3/4
    cup milk,
    some
    lemon
    rind or vanilla.
    Mix for 2 minutes at medium speed.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
