Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. margarine
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
4 c. flour
pinch of salt
1 lb. dates, chopped
1 lb. orange slices, chopped
2 tsp. soda
4 c. nuts, chopped

Preparation

In a separate large pan, add chopped dates, orange slices, nuts, salt and flour.
Melt margarine and cream in sugar; add eggs and 1 cup of buttermilk.
Add soda to remaining 1/2 cup of buttermilk and add to mixture of oranges, dates, flour, nuts and salt.
Mix well with hands.
Bake in tube cake pan for 3 or 4 hours at 275\u00b0.
