Butter Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 lb. butter (or 1/4 butter and 1/4 margarine)
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolk, vanilla and flour. Spread evenly on cookie sheet.
    Beat egg white slightly (until foamy).
    Spread and sprinkle nuts on top and bake in slow oven (300\u00b0) for 40 minutes.
