Mom'S Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. canned milk
    3/4 c. white syrup
    dash of salt
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Bring to boil:
    sugar, milk, syrup, butter and salt.
    Add dates.
    Stir until forms firm ball in cool water.
    Place pan in cold water and beat until thickened.
    Add nuts and pour out on wet cloth (brown domestic works best).
    Roll up and let set until firm.
    Unroll and cut into slices.
