Hushpuppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising corn meal
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1 egg, beaten
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Combine corn meal, milk, egg and onion.
    Mix well.
    Drop by rounded teaspoonful into deep hot oil (375\u00b0) frying only a few at a time until golden brown.
    Drain on absorbent paper.
    Makes about 2 dozen hushpuppies.
