Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    3 or 4 c. flour (enough to make a soft dough)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and
    sugar;
    add egg, milk, dry ingredients and vanilla.
    Work so
    you
    can handle by adding 3 or 4 cups flour.
    Roll on a
    board 1/4 inch thick.
    Cut and bake on greased baking sheet for about 15 minutes at 375\u00b0.
