Green Tomato Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 peck green tomatoes
    2 qt. vinegar
    1 qt. sugar
    2 Tbsp. dry mustard
    5 onions, peeled and chopped
    2 Tbsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. pickling spice
    2 tsp. ground cloves
    2 Tbsp. plain salt
    green hot pepper to taste (optional)
Preparation
    Peel and chop tomatoes.
    Place in a large pot.
    Add all other ingredients.
    Bring to boil.
    Cook about 10 minutes or until tomatoes and onions are tender.
    Stir frequently so mixture does not scorch.
    Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal.
    Makes 12 pints.
