Butterscotch Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 eggs, separated
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    3 c. milk
    4 1/2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    6 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Mix egg
    yolks\twith
    milk.
    Mix
    cornstarch with brown sugar and
    add
    egg
    and\tmilk
    mixture
    gradually.
    Add salt. Cook, stirring
    constantly
    until
    thickened.
    Add butter and vanilla. Beat egg whites until they form soft peaks.
    Add 1/2 cup sugar and
    beat until stiff peaks.
    Pour filling in baked pie shell. Top
    with
    meringue and bake at 400\u00b0 until browned on top.\tCool and chill.
