French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large yellow onion
    1/4 lb. real butter
    2 beef bouillon cubes
Preparation
    Peel onion and slice thinly. Melt butter slowly in pan.
    Add onion and cook slowly over low heat, stirring often, until onion is golden brown. Add 6 cups water and the bouillon cubes.
    Cook at least 1 hour. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese when served.
