Fred'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 sticks butter
    2 3/4 c. flour (plain, not self-rising)
    3 eggs
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Combine buttermilk and baking soda; set aside.
    (Baking soda will react with buttermilk and volume will increase.) Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Cream together butter (at room temperature) and sugar. Alternately add eggs, one at a time, with flour and buttermilk mixture.
    Bake for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes or until golden brown.
