Chocolate Chip Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. softened butter or shortening
    2 medium eggs or 3 small eggs
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    2 c. unsifted self-rising flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Beat butter, eggs, sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add dry ingredients; blend well.
    Stir in chips and nuts.
    Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart.
    Bake in a moderate oven (375\u00b0) for 7 to 9 minutes.
    Makes about 7 dozen.
